About

We are newlyweds who are stuck in cubicle land, plotting our escape! “We” are: Katie, a civil engineer, and Nathan, an IT ninja.  We have a goal to buy an RV, remodel it to be greener, and live/travel full time around America for 1-2 years. (with our two cats!)  We are looking to start our own business for income while living on the road, and still figuring out the “how” in all of this.

Katie loves all things crafty, sustainable development, photography, and outrageous authentic people.

Nathan loves all kinds games, earthships, computers, and string theory.

We are burners, fire performers, geeks, explorers, and adventurous homebodies.

Our journey is just beginning.

    Hi,
I got here through a link at offbeat home. I think that what you are doing is totally cool! Could I in any way subscribe to your blog (preferable rss feed, so I can read it in my beloved rss reader)?

    Good luck on the project!

Hi Hannah! Thanks for stopping by – I wasn’t expecting any referrals from Offbeat Home until it goes live February 28th! I’m working on some more changes before then, but just crawled out of a hole from being sick the past few days. I’ll be adding an RSS feed link soon! – Katie

  2. Hey!

I am also from Offbeat Home, and I just wanted to say how much I envy you. I’m still a student and don’t have anywhere near the financial ability to pull something like this off, but I will be following you guys to see how you do! Who knows, maybe I can talk my boyfriend into giving this a shot after I finish school. ❤

Thanks Cortney! To be honest – we are not in the ideal situation to do this. We are not debt free, we do not have much in savings. But we strongly feel that we need to do this now and not put it off! And we are approaching it in a responsible way – with a clear exit strategy (set aside money for the transition back, ie, security/deposit for an apartment and replacing furniture) and just seeing how long we can go. Definitely finish school first, but don’t believe that you have to follow the “typical” path once you graduate!
